30 for 30: Day16 – Back on the road…

We had some lovely weather this weekend, some much needed warmth, followed by the drizzle. Availing the opportunity we decided to oil our bikes and take it for a spin. Now if you ask me why snow boots for the ride? Honestly I have no answers, except that my boy thought it fit best with what he wore.

I know there are a lot of moms out there like me who are a little skeptical about giving a toddler a scarf. I am too, but I think I just found the perfect one for these tiny necks… the one he’s wearing here works well in every aspect. It has the right length, it crosses over and stays in place with velcro, and is made of a nice chunky knit. Just perfect!! To use or not to use a scarf is not something I’m gonna evaluate here, but I will say that if you choose to, then make sure you think about these aspects – length, closure and fabric.

Outfit details:

Shirt – Guess
Sweatpants – Target
Vest – Carters
Snow boots – Children’s Place(out of stock)
Scarf – Old Navy

This is ridiculous! Why on Earth should kids be exposed to fashion so early in their lives? It’s the profiteering apparel companies at work to incite desire and envy in parents to splurge more on kids. In the process it’s the kids who are losing their innocence much earlier than natural and becoming consumerist much earlier.

@S
you are entitled to your opinion, as are others. I could go into a long defense of the why, what and hows…but in the interest of keeping this blog what it needs to be, lets just agree to disagree.
(btw, a lot of my posts revolve around creating expensive looks at inexpensive price tags)

There’s a saying out there, if you cannot say anything good, don”t say anything at all…

I see what totstylist does as another way to creative expression: some of us paint, some sew, some garden and totstylist does what she does, and her son is her canvas, clothes her palette.

Suhita has said it well. Also, coming from a friend of Totstylist, you can rest assured that mommy is sneaking behind child to take these pictures as he frolics in his childhood, which is well intact. “I” is as innocent as a kid his age can get.
