30 for 30 : Day21 – Linear proportions!

Have you ever wondered how something so basic and so simple has always remained a style staple and has never faltered through the years. The “stripes”, they come in all sizes and colors from the fun playful ones to the more straightforward nautical ones. This season you see them again all over, from basic fitted thermals to the more slouchy wide neck jersey’s.

What you see above is how I envisioned the whole stripe play, however this challenge is all about using what you have without having to step out and refurbish your existing wardrobe.

Here’s how we played on this classic trend creating our sartorial statement with this iconic pattern.

Outfit details:

Striped thermal tee – GAP

Grey jeans – Old Navy
Suspenders – American Apparel
Checkered slip on – Old Navy
Sherpa lined cord bomber jacket – Old Navy

Love this look. I seriously am amazed at the pictures you get of him. My 18 month old and my 4 year old would never ever put up with it…every day! He looks like he loves the camera. Either his is going to be a model or a stylist.:)

Thank you Betsy… :) Here’s the trick… always take pictures when you have someone to help preferably. Make sure your help is always behind you and entertaining the kid, that way your kid is not focusing on you or the camera and is having fun completely unaware that he is being photographed! Works all the time for me! :)

I love stripes, there is nothing better! =)

My kiddo doesn’t either do well in front of the camera. My trick is to take pics when he’s doing something else and don’t notice the camera! =D
